ON Friday 13 December, 2002, Bill underwent a "Deep Brain Stimulation" (DBS) Operation to implant an electronic pulse generator with a lead into the center of his brain. This is done to alleviate some of his Parkinson's disease symptoms. Here is a Photo Gallery about the operation and here is a detailed description of the operation which he was awake for.
Bill was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in Dec. 1999. These diaries document his day-to-day experiences with this incurable neuro-degenerative disease.

In May of 2007, Bill purchased a brand new Toyota Prius Hybrid (promptly named Goldilocks) to replace his 2003 Prius. Goldilocks has every bell and whistle available on a new Prius.
